Intern Fair Prep: Meeting Interns with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities

Thursday, February 20, 2020
6:00pm - 7:30pm

A.R.T./New York Conference Room
520 8th Ave, 3rd Floor, Suite 319
New York, NY 10018

Prepare for the Fair! A.R.T./New York is working with MAC to make our annual Theatre Intern Fair accessible to candidates with intellectual and developmental disabilities; attend this session to learn how you can best accommodate these candidates while tabling at the Fair. This training can be attended in person or online, and a recording will be made available for those who can't attend at all. Please consider joining us as we work toward making our theatrical workplaces more accessible to everyone.

Following the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act in 1990, the Museum, Arts and Culture Access Consortium (MAC) was formed by a small group of museum and disability professionals that started meeting informally to discuss topics related to accessibility at their New York-based institutions. Today, MAC is an association that regularly hosts professional development workshops and offers a network of mutual support to help practitioners engage with disability advocates and people who have disabilities to learn about, implement, and strengthen best practices for access and inclusion in cultural facilities of all types throughout the New York metro area and beyond.
