MOVING THROUGH TOGETHER
10.23.23-10.25.23
It’s a tough time to be making theatre. It’s also a necessary moment for the power and possibility of the art we create. That’s why A.R.T./ New York is hosting our first Fall Forum to foster community, support collaboration, and encourage resource sharing among our members. Programming will include panel discussions, workshops, mixers, and roundtable conversations. This multi-day event will be an opportunity for collective learning, relationship building, solution sharing, and perhaps most importantly - joyful social events! Though we don’t yet know what solutions will emerge, we are confident in the ability of our community to remain rooted in our values as we dream up a world that doesn’t yet exist. You can sign up to attend whichever programs work for your schedule, but we do hope you’ll join us for as much of this practical and fun-filled gathering as possible.

FALL FORUM BENEFIT at Yotel >> WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25, Evening A.R.T./New York honors New Georges and Susan Bernfield with The Exuberant Imagination Award.
REGISTRATION
In order to create the most meaningful connections possible, we sincerely hope you will be able to join us in person. We are committed to providing the support necessary to make that possible. However, we recognize that in-person attendance may not be an option for everyone, so three key moments of the Fall Forum will also be live-streamed in partnership with Howlround and Transcend Streaming. When registering, you’ll have the option to indicate that you would like to receive links to view the live stream.
For in-person attendance, masking is encouraged, but not required.
To streamline the registration process, there is only ONE registration form for all events with the exception of the Fall Forum Benefit.
On the registration form, you will be able to:
- Choose which individual events you would like to attend,
- Request additional accessibility accommodations,
- Indicate whether you would like to receive links to view the live-streamed events,
- Learn more about the Fall Forum Benefit: Celebrating Service,
- Tell us how we can best support you if you are a caregiver planning to attend, and;
- Opt-in to participate in “The Fall Forum Classifieds.”
ACCESSIBILITY
The Fall Forum Kickoff, Grantmakers In Conversation, and the Marketing and Audience Development Panel Discussion will all be live-streamed and will include ASL interpretation and live CART captioning for both virtual and in-person attendees.

CAREGIVER SUPPORT
- We realize that in-person attendance can be a larger lift for caregivers in our community. With that in mind, we are pleased to offer stipends to help offset the cost of hiring caregiver support. You can let us know on the registration form if you’d like to request one of these stipends, and we will email you to begin a conversation. These stipends are limited, but we will do our best to fulfill all requests.
- We know that theatre administration isn’t the most interesting topic for young people, but children are welcome to attend any portion of the Fall Forum alongside an adult. You can let us know on the registration form if any children will be attending with you, and we’ll reach out to see what kid-friendly activities (coloring books, crayons, etc.) we can have on hand. We’re happy to chat about what we could do to make the experience fun for everyone. On 10/24 and 10/25 in the Spaces@520 there are also convenient side rooms in each studio that could serve as a “homework office.”
- A dedicated lactation space is available at A.R.T./New York’s Spaces@520.

CELEBRATING SERVICE
HONORING NEW GEORGES AND SUSAN BERNFIELD | WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 25, 6:00 PM EST at Yotel, Times Square // 570 10th Ave, New York, NY 10036

A.R.T./New York honors New Georges and Susan Bernfield with The Exuberant Imagination Award recognizing 30+years of experimentation, tenacity, service, and wit. Join us as we celebrate the indelible role that New Georges has played in the theatrical ecosystem: a small theatre that’s had outsized impact and a trajectory that mirrors A.R.T./New York’s own. New Georges Founder and Artistic Director/Producer Susan Bernfield has served on the A.R.T./New York Board of Directors for a quarter century, representing her peers while championing curiosity, innovation, and the full breadth of our community. Celebrating Service is a ticketed fundraising event, with proceeds ensuring that A.R.T./New York programming like the Fall Forum remains free for all members.
 THE FALL FORUM CLASSIFIEDS
Make Some New Connections.
One of our goals for the Fall Forum is to help our members forge new connections. On the registration form you’ll have the opportunity to write an ad for the Fall Forum Classifieds. This is your chance to let other attendees know what you’re in search of and to find out what type of connection your fellow members are seeking. Looking for a new creative collaborator? Interested in sharing resources with another company? In search of your next performance venue or presenting partnership? Throughout the entire Fall Forum, you’ll be able to use the Classifieds as your guide to making a match! You must register by October 10 to participate. Sit this one out, and it's just another 'missed connection.'
Example:
Wanted: Intimacy Coordinator
Company seeking Intimacy Coordinator for workshop of Carousel. Experience working with actors and entire production team, requesting guidance during table work and counsel/direction for staging of scenes containing domestic abuse.
