Key Takeaways from Health and Wealth: Supporting NYC Theatremakers through Data and Insights

Wednesday April 2, 2025
6pm-9pm ET

Format: Panel Discussion with following social hour
Location: The Great Room at South Oxford Space (138 S. Oxford St, Brooklyn, NY)

“How do my audience attendance trends stack up compared to my peers?”
“How has the theatremaking workforce changed, and what does it mean for our industry?”
“Everything feels really expensive right now - is it just me?”

“Where is money coming from… and where is it going?”

If you have asked questions like these in the past couple of years, you’re in good company! Last summer and fall, A.R.T./New York asked our membership to tell us about your experience in order to develop a comprehensive and nuanced understanding of the challenges and opportunities we face as a sector. Now we’re ready to share what we have learned. Join us for the unveiling of our top insights and findings!

Justin Birdsong of Skeleton Key Strategies will lead a conversation with the key partners of the Health and Wealth project, including Annie Bares from SMU Data Arts, Sarah Calderon from Creatives Rebuild New York, and A.R.T./New York leadership. The presentation will be followed by a social mixer where you can reconnect with your peers, celebrate the work we do, and toast to the growth to come.

Whether you make theatre, fund theatre or support theatre — you are invited to be with us as we kick off Spring Summit 2025 with this informative session and mixer.

Schedule:
6:00pm: Doors
6:30pm: Remarks and Data Report Presentation
Short Performance segue into reception
7:15pm: Social Mixer with complimentary drinks and hors d’oeuvres.

Health and Wealth: Supporting NYC Theatremakers through Data and Insights was made possible with lead funding from the Booth Ferris Foundation and was conducted in partnership with Skeleton Key Strategies. SMU DataArts has been our research partner and conducted the survey and preliminary analysis, and we are grateful for support from Creatives Rebuild New York and their Portrait of New York State Artists data set.
