Shared Office Space from A.R.T./New York

Another thing we've learned from the member report card: more of you want office space, and you don't want to wait till you've got a staff big enough to fill a large office.
A full-sized office year-round is great... for some companies. But project-based producers, small companies, and independent producers have different needs. In a step toward meeting those needs, later this summer we'll be offering shared office space at Spaces @ 520 so we can help more members take their work out of their apartments and into an office.
You can rent a dedicated desk in a new shared office at 520 8th Avenue for $425 a month. Need two desks? for only $700 a month you can have two!  We're making working in midtown Manhattan more affordable.
For these renters A.R.T./New York will offer:
  • Furniture! The desk, chair, a (locking) filing cabinet, we've got them for you.
  • Mailing Address! Get your mail delivered here, it's your office after all.
  • Access to the shared Copier/Printer, just like our regular office renters.
  • Access to the shared Kitchen on our floor
  • Free Wi-Fi and Internet access
  • Keys! It sounds small, but it means access to your office whenever the building is open. You work when you want to work. We can even hook you up with a keycard to get into the building (no more waiting in line at security)
That's all in addition to a prime location. Not only will you have a work space in midtown Manhattan, you'll share the floor with 20+ other theatre companies, A.R.T/New York's own Main Office, and our rehearsal studios (not to mention all the other rehearsal spaces at 520 and in the area!)  You can leave rehearsal and walk straight to work.

And we're adjusting the model to make office space feasible for more of you!

  • Flexible commitment: if you only need an office for a few months while your show is running, that's fine. you can let us know the length of your rental upfront, and if your needs change give us 30 days notice before ending your rental.
  • No deposit: the cost of your rental is the cost of your rental. No need to worry about huge costs upfront. All you need is your rent to start work in your new shared space.

Spaces is limited, and like with our regular office space, we anticipate demand being much higher than supply. Please, fill out the interest form on our site to let us know you want a desk. Our facilities staff will follow up with you to confirm and contract your rental.
