A.R.T./New York Shout-Out: Accessible Media & Marketing Workshops with Think Outside the VOX

Join us for a two-part workshop series led by tech-savvy experts from the Deaf and Blind communities, presented by Think Outside the Vox. Join us for one or both sessions—while they are designed to build on each other, and we strongly encourage attending both, it is not required.

Session One explores alt text, image descriptions, and captioning, and how these accessibility tools can double as powerful content that expands your reach to all audiences. The session includes a screen reader demonstration, and participants will practice writing their own materials while learning where and how to access these features from both the user and creator side.

Session Two focuses on how to format and implement these accessibility points to grow your audience and build a sustainable, accessible social media practice. Participants will work through real examples of content, identifying what makes it accessible–or inaccessible–for Deaf, Blind, and neurodivergent audiences, and leave with practical tools and strategies for ongoing use.
