The Artist's Roadmap

Wednesday, June 23, 2021
2:00pm - 6:00pm ET

Location: Zoom
Intended Audience: This is a beginner-level workshop, providing introduction, orientation, and real-time practice with key ideas, tools, and techniques for crafting core articulations and developing strategic plans. The Artist's Roadmap can be especially useful for makers who have a hard time distinguishing their own identity from their work, as well as folks who are looking to find a sustainable lifestyle that includes their creative endeavors!
Participation Level: High - A substantial portion of the workshop will be devoted to individual writing exercises, with regular opportunities to ask questions, share work, and receive or offer feedback.

Grounded in the same tools and techniques that FORGE provides its consulting clients, The Artist's Roadmap is a holistic Workshop that trains individual makers and organizational leaders to articulate their purpose and plan for their future. Encouraging participants to treat their goals as defined destinations rather than uncertain outcomes, The Artist's Roadmap offers artists and their companies the language, logistics, and landmarks to chart their course on the road to success.

Grounded in the belief that how we work matters as much as what we create and why, FORGE NYC is a boutique arts consultancy that helps organizations and independent artists take the next step in their work. Through our process-oriented consulting engagements, productive developmental workspaces, and well-curated resources, we train makers to measure the real costs of their projects, to communicate the value of their work, and, ultimately, to forge a path to success. Created by Co-Founders Greg Taubman and Chie Morita in 2015, FORGE NYC has been proud to consult with arts companies and solo creators across the US and the world, and to partner with member organizations including A.R.T./New York, The Artist Coop, The Indie Theater Fund, and The Empowered Artist Collective.

All A.R.T./New York workshops, roundtables, and trainings feature automated captioning provided by Zoom. ASL interpretation and CART captioning services are available by request; requests must be made at least 5 business days before the event. For requests, accessibility information, or other accommodations please contact Kirsten Sweeney at [email protected]
