Reach out to Jeannely Lopez at [email protected] if they need to be set up with an A.R.T./New York staff profile in order to register.
Participation Level: Medium - Presentation-style workshops with Q&A and discussion.

Over the last year, there has been an explosive culture shift resulting in a call for reform within the theater community as it relates to the pervasive oppression that diminishes the safety and equality of marginalized voices.  As we move forward in building tactics for a more equitable space, it is necessary to parse out new areas of growth and understanding and to actively seek opportunities and support in order to eliminate the damages of systemic racism in these spaces.

With over 40-years of combined experience in culture, diversity, and intimacy in the arts, BlackBee Entertainment is partnering with A.R.T./New York to assist membership in exploring the solutions that will establish their organization as a key player in the dismantling of supremacist values and alleviate the burden of enlightenment often placed on employees of the Global Majority.

To help you ensure the production of new stories in safe and equitable spaces from the ground up, join BlackBee Entertainment for this five-week series as they offer insight into the vital roles of Cultural Coordinator, Diversity Editor, and Intimacy Director.

BlackBee Entertainment utilizes over 40 years of experience in The Arts to analyze your team dynamics, concept, treatment, outline, libretto, or script for cultural competency, diverse casting focus and brave space for intimacy in all forms. With the expertise of a Cultural Coordinator, Diversity Editor, and Intimacy Specialist, BlackBee assesses your materials and teams to ensure the production of new stories in safe and equitable spaces from the ground up.

All A.R.T./New York workshops, roundtables, and trainings feature automated captioning provided by Zoom. ASL interpretation and CART captioning services are available by request; requests must be made at least 5 business days before the event. For requests, accessibility information, or other accommodations please contact Kirsten Sweeney at [email protected]
