Creative Space Program Re-Opens

A.R.T./New York is thrilled to re-open the Creative Space Program for rentals starting July 1, 2023. The Creative Space Program offers $12/hour rehearsal spaces for eligible rentals at both Spaces@520 and South Oxford Street. Eligibility has been updated to ensure that this valuable subsidy supports as many theatremakers as possible. See below for more information. Please contact us at [email protected] with any questions.

The Creative Space Program (CSP) is generously funded by the Mellon Foundation, a champion of supporting subsidized rehearsal space programs at A.R.T./NY and throughout the performing arts sector in NYC.

Creative Space Program FAQs:

Book eligible rehearsal studios for a deeply subsidized rate of $12/hour thanks to funding from the Mellon Foundation.

Who is eligible for CSP?

You are:

  • A member of A.R.T./New York
  • An organizational member with an annual budget of under $750,000 OR an individual member
  • Rehearsing! (As opposed to holding a fee-for-service class, performance, or audition)

Is there a cap?

Each member can book a maximum of 100 hours per fiscal year under the Creative Space Program rates. After that, our regular non-profit rates will apply. Capping the hours ensures that as many folks as possible can access this important subsidy.

We can’t wait to host your projects! CSP booking is now open for rehearsal rentals starting on July 1, 2023.
