Jeffrey and Paula Gural Theatre

The Gural is a flexible black box space with modular seating for up to 87 patrons.  The theatre measures approximately 34’ by 32’ and features a semi-sprung Masonite floor and a full ceiling grid at a height of 13’-8 1/2”.

Amenities include:

    • Lighting, A/V and soft goods packages.
    • Two dressing rooms accommodating 3-4 people each, with a shared bathroom between.
    • Access to a shared laundry facility.
    • An ADA-accessible control booth with windows looking over both the theatre and the lobby.
    • A dedicated lobby which can be used for company displays and small events.  The lobby has natural light, a ceiling grid, mobile carts for box office sales and concessions/merchandise sales, and two single unisex bathrooms.
    • Up to six performances per week are included in the weekly rent.

2016-17 Subsidized Rate: $3,300/week
2016-17 Standard Rate: approximately $4,500/week

Mezzanine Theatre

The Mezzanine is a fully flexible warehouse style space that can seat 99-149 patrons depending on the seating configuration.  The Mezzanine is 53' by 60' with one cement column towards the center, a semi-spring Masonite floor, and a full ceiling grid at a height of 13’-5”.  With curtain tracks and an assortment of soft goods, the room can easily be transformed into a traditional proscenium, an alley, a thrust, in-the-round, and many others. Amenities include:

    • Lighting, A/V and soft goods packages.
    • Two dressing rooms accommodating 5-6 people each, and with bathrooms and showers.
    • A backstage “green hallway” for hospitality.
    • Access to a shared laundry facility.
    • An ADA-accessible control booth.
    • A dedicated lobby which can be used for company displays and small events.  The lobby has natural light, mobile carts for box office sales and concessions/merchandise sales, and bathrooms.

2016-17 Subsidized Rate: $4,800/week
2016-17 Standard Rate: approximately $6,900/week

PLEASE NOTE: Seating layouts are in the process of being approved for public assembly and are subject to change.

 

Building Amenities included with rental package:

  • Wi-Fi throughout the building
  • Oversized passenger/freight elevator
  • Access to a supply of shared tools and ladders.
  • Postcard and poster displays onsite (details forthcoming).
  • Supervision by the A.R.T./New York Technical Director or technical staff
  • A.R.T./New York General Manager for advisory support
  • A.R.T./New York venue representative on-site for all performances (details forthcoming)
  • On-boarding reference sheets for box office, insurance, marketing, and other services
  • One pre- or post-show special event of up to two hours in duration is included (Costs will apply for additional events)

Each company will be expected to provide its own:

  • Box office service and ticketing system setup.
  • Personnel including a production manager, load-in/out crew, technical running crew, house manager, ushers, and box office staff.  One person must be Fireguard Certified by the FDNY and must be in attendance for each and every public performance and activity of the company.
  • Marketing and publicity, including but not limited to the design, printing, and distribution of marketing collateral and creating and printing the program.
  • Scenic, props and other production items necessary for its production, and perishables (screws, gaff tape, gel, laundry detergent, etc)
  • Proof of insurance, including general liability, umbrella liability, workers compensation (or volunteer accident), auto liability, and property insurance for its own physical property
