The Fund for Small Theatres

The Fund for Small Theatres was created in 1998 to increase JPMorgan Chase’s ability to support small theatre companies. Recognizing that companies with budgets between $100,000 and $500,000 are often in the midst of rapid growth, but can be hampered by a lack of available funding, the fund was established to assist theatres traditionally considered too small for some funders, yet too large for others.

Grants from the Fund for Small Theatres range in size from $2,000 to $7,500 and can support specific productions or programming, or be used to address general operating needs. Since its inception, the Fund for Small Theatres has awarded $1,307,000 in grants.
